Right now I’m living in this strange time in my life where I’m in between jobs. I’ve been keeping myself pretty busy–the last thing I want is for this to turn into a vacation! I’ve got a long list of cleaning/organizing goals, and I’m still trying to lose weight. My most important goal for this time, however, is to write.
Two years ago I completed National Novel Writing Month and this past year I got close. But after those months I really didn’t do anything with that I had written. It’s been sitting on my computer, just waiting. Well not anymore! I’ve finished editing both chunks of my NaNoWriMo writing and I’m hoping to start working on them again in the coming weeks. I’m especially pleased with the one I wrote in 2011. I love the characters I created, I’m mostly pleased with the plot, and I can’t wait to get back in and finish up the story!
I’ve also been working on a number of short stories. I’ve submitted a few of them to websites and contests, so keep your fingers crossed for me! If you want to read one that I’ve submitted for a contest you can click here. Reading over it now I can see how influenced I was by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but I think it’s still a pretty good story. The limits of the contest were 500 words about a forbidden relationship, so while I do have a bit more to the story it isn’t part of the entry!
I’m also going to try and update this blog a little more often. I like blogging and I really hope I can stick with it for at least a little while this time!
