I’ve been busy since I’ve been away from blogging! This summer was incredibly busy for me, so I took a step back from the internet to focus on other things. Here’s a little update.
TWO LIBRARY JOBS! I went back to my old job working at the branches/Circulation Desk of the big library near my parents’ house and I got a new library job where I actually get to do a bit of reference work. It’s wonderful and exciting to be back in libraries. I feel more than ever that public libraries are where I want to be. It isn’t always easy managing two jobs, but I think I’m balancing things pretty well.
I’m still writing and submitting things, but nothing too exciting to report here. I’m toying with the idea of self publishing On the Horizon, and I’ll probably work on book 2 during this years NaNoWriMo.
One of the best things about working in a library is all of the random books I find. I love seeing what other people are reading and sometimes that leads to books I never would have thought to pick up. One of my jobs is an hour away, so I’ve also been listening to a lot of audiobooks. The two biggest stand outs in the last few months for me are Robin Hobb’s The Fool’s Assassin and Robert Galbraith’s (aka J.K. Rowling) The Silkworm on audiobook.
Planning a wedding takes a lot of time! So far it’s been mostly fun. Sometimes I’m sad that I have to wait more than a year to get married, but mostly I’m relieved we don’t have to rush through planning. As excited as I am for our wedding, it’s really nice to take our time with things like finding the dress, the food, the photographer.
